Hear ye, hear ye! Listen to the tale of Gerror, a valiant monster obsessed by humans, those mythical creatures supposedly hidden in the shadows. They are rumored to have weird habits such as the use of shoes and coins.
Such is the quest told by Mélina Ienco, Lucie Juric, Caroline Leibel, Faustine Merle, Claire Pellet in their Gobelins thesis short film (class of 2022). For this 2D animation short film, the team used framing and stylized drawings to create a beautiful tale.
The short features bold lines, illuminations that highlight the fact that the main character is at the heart of a legendary quest. The detailed and textured backgrounds were also created with great care.
Unless… Unless something’s off. Behind this quest might be lurking a dark and hidden truth.
