We sat down with Mikros Animation Paris to ask them about their work on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem. The film was produced at Mikros Animation Paris, Montreal, and Cinesite.
They explained us how they achieved the hand-drawn look of the animated feature and the challenges involved, their collaboration with director Jeff Rowe and Nickelodeon, as well as how important matte painting was on this specific movie.They also told us about crowds, lighting, shading, compositing and the main antagonist (spoilers from 2’50” to 3’00”, between 17’22” and 17’44”: go watch the movie if you haven’t done it already!)
