Mikros Animation: how to create a crowd
Golaem, the company behind the crowd simulation software of the same named, shared on their website an interview with Benjamin Dupin, Crowd Supervisor at Mikros Animation Paris. He explains how Mikros managed to handle crowds with up to 400, 500 characters in a single shot.
Benjamin Dupin also told us about crowd simulations in our video interview on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem (ivideo n French, but English subtitles are available). He explained, among other things, how the Times Square sequence was handled, and how Mikros created the background characters.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem Cinesite Breakdown Reel
Cinesite shared a breakdown of their work on the movie. As they explain, “Mikros Animation in Montreal and Paris was the lead vendor on the film, with Cinesite Vancouver & Montreal supporting them by providing 21.5 minutes of animation across 20 sequences. Cinesite’s crew worked on the project for 11 months.” The Cinesite team was led by VFX Supervisor Chris Kazmier & Animation Supervisor Eric Cheung.
