Founded in 1999, the Georges Méliès School celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. Based in Orly, France, near Paris, the school trains students for careers in visual arts: 2D animation, 3D animation, stop-motion, VFX, cinematic, and real-time techniques.
To mark this milestone, its director Franck Petitta has announced a rebranding. As many students and professionals commonly shorten the name, the school has decided to make this informal practice official by rebranding as Méliès School.
At the same time, the logo has been updated: the iconic Moon from Georges Méliès’ A Trip to the Moon is retained but simplified and refined.
The school is also taking this opportunity to unveil a new program focused on virtual production. We should soon have the chance to delve deeper into the details of this curriculum.
In the meantime, here is the teaser for the 2024 class projects, which will be released online shortly. You can also check out our detailed report on these projects.
