Created by Mexican filmmakers Diego Alonso Sánchez de la Barquera Estrada and Christian Arredondo Narváez, the animated short film Nube has already charmed film festivals and impressed creatives like Guillermo del Toro.
The short deals with loss, and how to accept the fact that someone close to you passed away.
Thanks to its numerous selections and awards, Nube (produced by Avec ou sans vous and Cub Animations) is now eligible for the Oscar for Best Animated Short Film. The directing duo is determined to win the coveted statuette.
The challenge? To secure Academy votes, the film needs greater visibility, particularly through screenings. To fund this Oscar campaign, a Kickstarter campaign has been launched.
Of course, backers will receive rewards for their support: goodies, an artbook, Photoshop brushes, a mention in the credits… Starting from just a few dollars, you’ll also receive a private link to watch the film.
