ARTFX continues to release its 2024 graduation films. Following Pittura, here is Par-Delà Les Nuages (Beyond the Clouds)!
This short film, created by Lisandru Costa, Romain Thoumsin, and Pia Vilayleck, uses both 2D and 3D animation to follow a pair of pilots in a misty world. A standout feature is its memorable soundtrack, crafted by Louise Murigneux, Quentin Chauvineau, and Enzo Ratsito.
In a gaseous-state world, under thick layers of tumultuous clouds, Melo, an apprentice airplane pilot with a phobia of storms, has to participate in the Lightning Race as a graduation requirement. He trains with Jojo, the best pilot in his class, then tries to overcome his fears during the exam, by launching his flight into a tormented sky.
